 The week of Sept. 1:

Tuesday
- Intro to class, seating charts, syllabus, create your summer timeline and life timeline

Wednesday
- Lesson 1- go over vocabulary, draw from memory the world map

Thursday
- Share good news, quiz each other on vocab., article of the week (Kelly Gallagher, current event, etc), draw a map of the school (point of view impacts map- discuss)

Friday
- CNN Student News, quiz each other on vocabulary, take vocabulary quiz, and start Lesson 2- What Can A Map Tell Us?- brainstorm with a group- show ancient maps and discuss point of view

Standards/Learning Targets for this week:
G1.1.2. Draw an accurate map of the world from memory

G1.1.1 Describe how geographers use mapping to represent places

G1.2.2 Explain why maps of the same place may vary as a result of the cultural or historical back ground of the cartographer.
